Position Summary
The Assistant Venue Manager is a key leadership role supporting the Venue Manager in the daily operations of The Emerson. You will help lead a high-performing team, ensure operational excellence across all departments (rooftop, cocktail bar, nightclub, events), and uphold the venue’s standards of service, safety, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Venue Manager in overseeing all operational aspects of the venue including bar, floor, kitchen, security, and events.
Lead and supervise staff, including front-of-house teams, ensuring consistent high standards of service.
Drive a strong customer-first culture with a focus on premium guest experiences.
Assist with rostering, staff training, and performance management.
Monitor compliance with RSA, licensing regulations, and OH&S policies.
Help manage inventory, ordering, and stock control systems.
Respond to guest feedback and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
Support execution of private functions, major events, and DJ entertainment nights.
Collaborate with marketing, promotions, and VIP departments to drive patronage.
Assist in achieving financial targets through cost control and revenue growth initiatives.

High-level knowledge of RSA, liquor licensing, and venue compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum 2 years in a similar supervisory or assistant management role within hospitality.
Current RSA Certificate (mandatory).
First Aid certification (preferred).
Experience with POS and venue management systems (e.g., H&L, Now Book It, Deputy) is advantageous.
