Help neurodivergent children thrive in a team that celebrates strengths, not just milestones.
Are you a Developmental Educator with a passion for supporting neurodivergent children in authentic, affirming, and playful ways? At The Neuro Nest, we’re not here to “fix” children we’re here to walk alongside them, building meaningful skills, autonomy and confidence through everyday moments, creative sessions, and rich relationships.
We’re looking for a warm, flexible and collaborative Developmental Educator to join our team across both our individual therapy sessions and creative holiday programs, while also playing a key role in our Key Worker model for families navigating the NDIS and daily life.
This is a role with heart, variety, and real impact, no two days the same, and no rigid programs in sight.
About The Neuro Nest
We’re a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed and family-centred therapy team, working with neurodivergent children, teens and families. Our work is grounded in:
Play-based, interest-led learning and development
Capacity building for children, families and educators
Collaboration, creativity, and consent in all we do
Support that celebrates differences instead of suppressing them
Your role will support clients through:
🧠 1:1 sessions tailored to functional goals (e.g. emotional regulation, daily routines, independence, transitions, communication and more)
🎨 Therapeutic holiday programs with small group, play-based social-emotional activities
🤝 A Key Worker role where you’ll be the consistent point of contact for families coordinating care, building trust, and supporting them to navigate systems like the NDIS and schools
✏️ Visual supports, social narratives, routines and strategies that truly work for each child and family
🧩 Collaborating with OTs, Speechies, Psychologists and Social Workers in planning and delivering truly holistic support
We’d Love to Hear from You If You:
Are a qualified Developmental Educator (DEAI membership or eligibility)
Believe in neurodiversity-affirming, family-centred and strengths-based practice
Have experience or interest in working with neurodivergent children and teens
Are creative, playful, and responsive in your approach to support
Can confidently plan, adapt, and deliver individualised sessions and group activities
Are an excellent communicator and can hold space for both children and their grown-ups
Enjoy working as part of a collaborative, caring and reflective team
What You’ll Get at The Neuro Nest
⏰ Flexible working arrangements – full-time, part-time, and casual
🧩 Co-working with a kind, skilled and values-aligned multidisciplinary team
