The Opportunity

A major Australian brand has engaged our consulting arm of the business to secure multiple Data Scientists to solve complex, high-value business challenges through data science, AI and machine learning. This client within B&F is seeking Data Specialists with ML experience to assist with the uplift of internal platforms and tools.

The Role

This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you'll apply data science across the full lifecycle to deliver measurable outcomes.

• Frame business problems and define analytical objectives in collaboration with stakeholders
• Access and wrangle large datasets from cloud, API and structured sources
• Build statistical and ML models (classification, regression, NLP, forecasting, etc.)
• Experiment using Python, SQL and cloud notebooks like Vertex AI, Databricks or SageMaker
• Translate results into insights through dashboards, presentations, and storytelling
• Support model packaging, deployment readiness and performance monitoring

About You

You're a commercially minded data scientist with a deep analytical skillset and a passion for applying AI in meaningful ways.

• Extensive experience in data science roles within large enterprise environments (ideally banking and/or finance)
• Expert in Python (pandas, sklearn, etc.), SQL, and cloud-based data environments
• Experience with classification, clustering, forecasting, causal inference & optimisation
• Familiarity with GenAI, LLMs, vector databases, and modern MLOps practices
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement, data storytelling and cross-functional collaboration
• Exposure to real-time data systems, streaming, or sector-specific applications (e.g., banking, health, government)
• Must have full Australian working rights and be available for Hybrid requirements
