The Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) is seeking an experienced and proactive Technology & Cyber Manager to join our team. This senior role is responsible for managing technology operations, vendor partnerships, and cybersecurity coordination across our organisation.
The Opportunity:
You will lead engagement with key technology vendors, oversee service delivery and system performance, and coordinate AOA’s cybersecurity and risk management program.
This is a varied role with responsibility across technology operations, vendor management, and cyber risk oversight.
This role reports to the Technology Executive Manager and is a key operational leadership position within the Technology Portfolio.
Please note: 0.8 FTE would be considered for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
The role involves:
· Managing vendor relationships and service-level agreements to ensure quality delivery of technology services.
· Coordinating cybersecurity activities in partnership with external advisors, including risk assessments, incident response planning, and Essential Eight compliance.
· Overseeing technology contracts, expenses, performance monitoring, and reporting.
· Collaborating with internal stakeholders to support system enhancements, change requests, and process improvements.
· Providing guidance and mentoring to members of the Technology Portfolio team.
To be successful in this role, applicants will ideally have:
· Proven experience managing technology operations in a complex environment, including working with multiple external technology vendors and service providers.
· Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks and principles, particularly the Essential Eight, with practical experience coordinating cyber risk management activities such as incident response planning, risk assessments, and control monitoring.
· Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage confidently with internal leadership teams and external partners at a senior level.
· Experience preparing reports, board papers, and operational dashboards, including translating technical information into business-focused insights for executive and governance audiences.
· Demonstrated organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects, competing deadlines, and complex priorities in a structured and effective manner.
· High-level computer literacy, with strong skills in Microsoft 365 and experience using cloud-based collaboration platforms and service management tools.
· A collaborative leadership approach, with experience mentoring and supporting team members in a technology-focused environment.
· Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or a related field; or equivalent relevant experience.
