About the Role:

We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced Motor Mechanic to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.

This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical expertise, a high level of attention to detail, and a customer-focused attitude. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various vehicle makes and models and be capable of performing complex mechanical repairs independently.

You will need to perform the following duties:

· Diagnose, repair, and service mechanical and electrical components of light vehicles including engines, transmissions, suspension, braking systems, and air conditioning systems.

· Conduct routine servicing and maintenance checks, including oil and filter changes, belt and hose inspections, and fluid top-ups.

· Use diagnostic tools and test equipment to identify faults and determine appropriate repair procedures.

· Inspect and test vehicles to ensure compliance with safety and performance standards.

· Dismantle and reassemble vehicle parts and components to conduct repairs or replacements.

· Perform wheel alignments, tyre rotations, and balance checks.

· Maintain accurate service records and documentation of all repairs performed.

· Follow workshop procedures, health and safety regulations, and ensure a clean and safe working environment.

· Communicate with customers and team members regarding repair options, timelines, and costs.

· Assist with the training and supervision of junior mechanics or apprentices, where required.

· Liaise with suppliers to source parts and manage inventory to ensure availability of commonly used items.

· Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated.

· Support the workshop manager with ongoing improvements to workflow and service efficiency.

About You

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong mechanical aptitude, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

· At least a Certificate IV in Automotive or equivalent qualification.

· At least 1 year of relevant experience as a Motor Mechanic.

· Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical vehicle issues.

· Familiarity with modern diagnostic tools and vehicle technologies.

· Good communication and teamwork skills.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.

· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

· Previous experience with European, Japanese, or Australian vehicles will be highly regarded.

Salary setting:

AUD 70,000 – AUD 80,000 plus guaranteed superannuation
