SENIOR TOWN PLANNER

Urban Sync Pty Ltd are a Town Planning and Land Development consultancy practice servicing North Queensland including Townsville, Cairns, Tablelands, Cape York and everywhere in-between.
Our business is committed to delivering ‘high’ quality statutory planning and development advice to the private sector and government organisations dealing with project feasibility, design and co-ordination, approvals management, infrastructure negotiations and post approval activities.

An exciting opportunity now exists for a motivated and experienced individual looking to develop their career participating and managing a diverse workload involving several challenging development projects. You will preferably have experience in a consulting environment or state/local government and a network of contacts throughout the planning development industry would be advantageous.

To be suitable for this role, you will need:

A degree or relevant tertiary qualification in Town/Urban Planning or other related discipline (associated with the development or property industry);

Demonstrated and recent experience dealing with the development industry.
An understanding of regulatory frameworks and protocols of development in Queensland would be of benefit (ie. Planning Act 2016 and other related legislation);

Excellent written communication and verbal skills. This includes the ability to participate in negotiations, problem solving and conflict resolution to advocate on behalf of client and in dealings with assessing authorities.

Given the nature of the position, we are encouraging an ‘expression of interest’ from individuals with around 5 + years’ post graduate experience in the development industry and who are committed and dedicated to achieving the aims of the business and the aspirations of our clients. The role would involve the successful candidate managing their own projects all dealings with the client from inception through to the completion of approvals delivery and post approval activities. The ability to mentor and guide others in the planning team is also considered a benefit. Flexible working arrangements are on offer for the suitable applicant.
