Our client, in the public sector, is seeking an IT Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of key initiatives across data governance, AI-readiness, and modern integration platforms. This is an initial 3-month contract, with the possibilities of extensions.

This role will initially focus on enabling Microsoft Purview, CoPilot readiness, and delivering a future-proof data integration platform. You'll be instrumental in driving data maturity, stakeholder alignment, and digital uplift across a complex and dynamic environment.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Manage the delivery of critical data and digital platform projects from inception to execution.
• Lead cross-functional teams across data governance, system integration, and AI enablement.
• Define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Oversee procurement, vendor management, and contract execution in line with internal policies.
• Track performance and deliver structured reporting to senior leadership and steering groups.
• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture and information management frameworks.
• Drive customer-centric design and continuous improvement across digital initiatives.
• Provide leadership or support for broader transformation projects as required.

What We're Looking For:

Essential:

• Tertiary qualification in IT, Business, Data Management or equivalent professional experience.
• Demonstrated success managing complex ICT, data, or digital projects.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills across all levels.
• Experience in data governance, system integration, or AI readiness initiatives.
• Proven track record in vendor management, budgeting, risk management, and executive reporting.
• Proficiency in project methodologies and tools (PRINCE2, Agile, PMBOK, etc.).
• Strong team player who can also work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

• Experience with platforms such as Microsoft Purview, CoPilot, Power Platform, Azure Data Factory.
• Familiarity with enterprise integration (iPaaS, ETL/ELT, middleware).
• Understanding of local government operations and compliance frameworks.
• Involvement in broader digital transformations (CRM, websites, cloud migration).
• Formal certification in project management (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM).
