About the role

Sydenham Dental Group is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Dental Assistant to join our dedicated team in Sydenham, Victoria, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. This part-time role will see you providing invaluable support to our dentists, ensuring the smooth running of our dental practice and delivering exceptional patient care. You will have the opportunity to join a well established dental team and utilize modern dental technology such as Cone Beam imaging, intra-oral scanners as well as digitally driven Implant and orthodontic treatment.

What you'll be doing

Assisting dentists during procedures by handing instruments, mixing materials, and ensuring the dental chair and equipment are prepared and sterilized

Greeting and welcoming patients, managing their paperwork and appointments, and ensuring they feel comfortable throughout their visit

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including charting and documenting treatment plans.

Maintaining a high standard of infection control and sterilization procedures

Providing chairside support and education to patients on oral hygiene and dental health

Undertaking general administrative tasks to support the smooth running of the practice

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years' experience as a Dental Assistant, preferably in a general or orthodontic dental practice setting.

Experience in Orthodontics and Implantology would be an advantage, however, training will be provided for the successful candidate.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to put patients at ease

Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities

Proficiency in maintaining electronic records

Knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures

A caring, empathetic and professional approach to patient care

Must have high personal and professional standards of conduct in a team orientated work-place.
