ABOUT YOU
You will have experience running a kitchen within an Aged Care Facility which will ensure you feel comfortable stepping in to manage all facets of Food Services. You will have the ability to lead the day-to-day production with the assistance of kitchen hands and accept responsibility for the smooth running of the kitchen.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Prepare and cook meals, ensuring that food is prepared safely and hygienically, and that it meets quality standards.
Ensure that meals comply with dietary guidelines and regulations and accommodate residents' individual dietary restrictions and preferences.
Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation, and regularly inspect food supplies to ensure freshness and suitability for consumption.
Supervise kitchen staff and ensure that they follow food safety protocols and hygiene standards.
Be flexible and adaptable to accommodate changing dietary requirements, seasonal ingredients and resident’s feedback.
Engage with residents to gather feedback on meals, preferences, and dietary needs, and adjust menus as necessary to improve satisfaction and overall well-being.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and other relevant legislation governing food service in aged care facilities.
WHAT DO YOU NEED?
Minimum of Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or Cert IV in Commercial cookery/ Diploma in hospitality)
Food Safety and Handling Certificate
Previous experience in the Aged Care sector
Current National Employment Police Check
Current Flu and Covid Vaccinations as per state government requirements
Drivers licence and reliable car an advantage
Compassion and genuine empathy for the elderly
