About the Role
We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented finance professional to join our team as the Finance Coordinator. This is a key role supporting the financial health and compliance of both the business and its consultancy projects.
This role offers more than just day-to-day financial management. It is a pivotal position in shaping the financial systems and processes that will support the next phase of RFF’s growth. For the right applicant, this position could evolve into a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role as the business scales.
The successful candidate will take ownership of daily financial operations, support project cost recovery, ensure accurate and timely reporting, and assist in compliance monitoring across all stages of the project lifecycle. You’ll be part of a small leadership team driving operational excellence and long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Manage accounts payable and receivable, and perform monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare and lodge BAS, Payroll Tax, and PAYG Instalments (PAYGI)
Set up new projects in WorkflowMax and track project costs and recovery
Issue project invoices in line with milestones and deliverables
Process and implement approved changes to project scope or budget
Lead financial closure of projects, including reporting on recovery and profit margins
Support cashflow forecasting and resourcing capacity planning
Prepare monthly financial reports for the executive team
Conduct internal project audits to ensure compliance and data integrity
About You
You will have:
3–5+ years’ experience in a finance or bookkeeping role
Experience working in a professional consultancy environment will be highly regarded
Advanced proficiency in Xero, WorkflowMax, and Microsoft Excel
Strong attention to detail, financial reporting skills, and the ability to work independently
A qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Finance, or a related discipline (e.g. Cert IV in Bookkeeping, Diploma of Accounting, or Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting/Finance)
Experience preparing and lodging BAS, PAYG Instalments, and Payroll Tax
