J&D Quality Smash Repairs is an Australian-owned family business, founded in 1996, specialising in automotive smash repairs. We take pride in being a leader in the Brisbane smash repair market, using the latest repair techniques and technology. Our multidisciplinary team is made up of true craftsmen in their trade!

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Panel Beater to join our Panel & Paint team on a full-time basis. If you're looking to lead by example and contribute to a high-performing team, this is an exciting opportunity for you.

About the Role

As a Panel Beater, you will:

Work alongside the team to ensure that all repairs are carried out efficiently and to the highest standard.

Foster a productive and positive work culture by motivating and mentoring your team, while encouraging collaboration and teamwork.

Lead by example in performing high-quality repairs in a timely manner as per job sheets and estimates, always maintaining a focus on quality and attention to detail.

Ensure received parts are correct and in good condition before starting work.

Collaborate with the multidisciplinary workshop team to produce excellent repairs and meet deadlines.

Assembly and disassembly of vehicles as required, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency.

Share your expertise and knowledge of workshop equipment, promoting best practices in equipment use and maintenance.

Ensure that all safety procedures and OH&S policies are followed, and that the team is using PPE correctly.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement, where team members are encouraged to contribute ideas for process enhancements.

What We’re Looking For

We need a Panel Beater who:

Has a hands-on approach, willing to work side-by-side with the team to drive results and maintain a high standard of work.

Is passionate about developing their skills and producing high-quality work while leading and mentoring a team.

Has proven experience within a body shop and a strong understanding of all facets of panel beating, including chassis alignment and panel repairs.

Has restoration experience (bonus, not essential).

Demonstrates flexibility and a can-do attitude, both in technical work and leadership.

Leads with integrity, honesty, and a commitment to teamwork, fostering a positive and collaborative environment.

Holds an Australian Trade Qualification or equivalent.

Holds an open manual driver’s licence.

Unlimited working rights in Australia are a must.
