Your Role
As a Speech Pathologist you'll be looking after the most important people in our hospital - our patients.
Your tasks will include:
Use evidence based techniques to achieve and maintain functional outcomes
Maintain currency of professional practice and ensure practice is contemporary and relevant
Deliver competent speech pathology clinical services including assessment, diagnosis, individualised and planned interventions
Evaluate the effects of speech pathology interventions provided through planned reviews and assessments in consultation with consumer / patient, carer and multidisciplinary team
Competently manage allocated case lists in conjunction with relevant supervisor
Protect the rights and support the dignity of individuals and groups
Select and implement the most appropriate model of care to suit consumer / patient need and promote self management
Your Attributes
You have:
Be flexible and responsive to meet the needs of the consumer / patients, care team and the demands of the operations of the service
A positive attitude towards health and wellbeing
Work collaboratively and effectively with the multidisciplinary team
Have experience in the delivery of Speech Pathology interventions in a Neurorehabilitation service
Be able to meet individual needs and adopt an inclusive consumer focused approach to care
Demonstrate high level communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to consult, liaise and negotiate with internal and external service providers
Show knowledge of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards Essential Criteria
LSVT/ Speak Out® training
Experience with high intensity aphasia programs

Role Requirements
Current Speech Pathology Registration with Speech Pathology Australia (CPSP preferred)
Minimum 2 years hospital experience as a Speech Pathologist
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Current Police Screening Certificate
Be vaccinated (and maintain up-to-date vaccinations) against Influenza and Covid-19
Good computer & mobile device skills
Current Drivers Licence
