The Role
We are recruiting for a Recovery Practitioner role within Housing and Homelessness. This role is Permanent Full Time, working 38 hours per week on a rotational roster acorss 7 days per week.
The Recovery Practitioner will provide client-centered planned support for single adult women and single young pregnant and or parenting women, who are experiencing homelessness or are at risk of homelessness.
This role will be based from the Toowong office, and the successful candidate will be providing outreach services across the Brisbane region using a company Fleet vehicle.
The Rotational Roster
Wk 1: 8.30am – 4.30pm every week day except Tuesday – Tuesday mid shift (12pm to 8pm)
Wk 2 :8.30am – 4.30pm week days except Monday – Monday mid shift
Wk 3: 8.30am – 4.30 all week days RDO Friday. Sunday mid shift (Sunday rates apply)
Wk 4: RDO Monday – 8.30am – 4.30pm week days - mid shift Saturday (Saturday rates apply)
Wk 5: 8.30am – 4.30 all week days except Friday – mid shift
Wk 6: 8.30 – 4.30 week days except Wednesday - mid shift
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Support: Provide trauma-informed, recovery-oriented case management to women and families, including developing case plans, supporting goal setting, facilitating workshops, and promoting wellbeing through evidence-based strategies.
Service Delivery & Housing Transitions: Deliver tailored support to women (primarily adult women), including family interventions and assistance transitioning into community and public housing, while enhancing living and interpersonal skills.
Administration & Compliance: Maintain accurate and timely records, complete intake and reporting requirements, and support feedback processes in line with organisational policies and procedures.
Frameworks & Best Practice: Work within and promote the organisation’s values and service frameworks, contribute to quality improvements, participate in networks, and apply evidence-based and risk-informed approaches to practice.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement: Foster a positive team environment, share knowledge, support peers, and engage in ongoing professional development and service innovation.
General Duties: Adhere to confidentiality and code of conduct requirements, maintain qualifications, comply with WHS practices, and undertake tasks as delegated within scope and ability.
To Be Successful
Proven experience in case management and assessment with adult and young women facing or at risk of homelessness.
Strong understanding and practical application of Trauma-Informed and Recovery-Oriented frameworks.
Skilled in implementing intervention strategies, including family support and working with vulnerable women and children.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage effectively.
Collaborative team player who builds positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
Solutions-focused, self-motivated, and capable of working independently while contributing to team goals.
Proficient in Microsoft Office with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
Other requirements

Degree in Social Work, Human Services or a related field, and/or equivalent practical experience in homelessness involving adults and parenting young women
Current Queensland Driver Licence
Current Blue Card (Working with Children)
Salary and Benefits
$49.2807 per hour + penalty rates where applicable (weekends) + 12% super
Street parking available at Toowong location
Fleet vehicle available for all work related travel
