About the role
WorkPac are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client in Yarwun. The successful candidate will deliver technical support for operations and maintenance, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant within site and legislative standards. They will also drive continuous improvement by leveraging new technologies and engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
Support and review the E&I asset management plan, providing expertise in implementing recommendations.
Collaborate with site and engineering disciplines to identify and address improvement opportunities in asset management systems and processes.
Offer expert technical advice and support for utilities area assets.
Develop scopes of work, equipment specifications, and modify electrical drawings (e.g., single line diagrams, control panel schematics, P&IDs).
Monitor and ensure compliance with engineering standards and maintain updated site electrical standards.
Contribute to HSE measures through hazard studies and risk assessments.
Investigate and resolve electrical equipment failures to minimize business impact.
Practical experience with commissioning and troubleshooting E&I issues is highly regarded.
Skills and Experience Required
Tertiary qualification in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
At least 5 years experience in similar roles within heavy industry, preferably with material handling systems.
Experience with conveyors, iMAC monitoring, PLC, and VSD is highly regarded.
Competency in working with electrical equipment in hazardous areas (EEHA).
Safety-focused with excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail.
Proactive, goal-oriented, and able to work well both in a team and independently.
