About the role
As a Community Housing Officer at Community Housing Central Australia (CHCA), you will play a vital role in providing high-quality housing and support services to individuals and families in need. Based in Alice Springs, NT, this full-time position is responsible for managing a portfolio of properties and ensuring the wellbeing of our tenants.
What you'll be doing
Manage a caseload of community housing properties, including conducting regular inspections and maintaining open communication with tenants
Assess tenant applications and manage the allocation of properties to ensure fair and equitable access to housing
Provide support and assistance to tenants, addressing any issues or concerns they may have and connecting them with relevant community services
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including property maintenance schedules and tenant information
What we're looking for
Relevant experience in the community housing, social services or related field
A strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals and families experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathise and build trusting relationships with tenants
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
A commitment to social justice and a desire to make a positive impact in the community
