Apprentice Signwriter – Full‑Time

Do you love building things with your hands and tinkering with machines? 3DLA—one of Adelaide’s leading custom signage and 3‑D display workshops—is looking for a motivated Apprentice Signwriter (Certificate III in Signs & Graphics) to join us full‑time. You’ll learn everything from traditional sign fabrication to cutting‑edge digital production while earning a nationally recognised trade qualification.

What you’ll do

Fabricate and install signs using hand tools, power tools, CNC routers, laser cutters and large‑format printers.

Learn the full workflow—design, vinyl cutting, paint, graphics application, assembly and onsite installation.

Assist with machine maintenance and troubleshooting to keep our workshop running smoothly.

Support the team with computer‑aided design (CAD) tasks and basic file preparation for print.

Follow all WHS procedures and keep the workspace clean, safe and organised.

What you’ll bring

Genuine interest in mechanics and how things work.

Confidence using basic hand and power tools (school tech, hobby projects or weekend DIY all count).

A strong work ethic, reliability and honesty—you turn up on time and own your tasks.

Willingness to learn every facet of modern sign-making, from skilled hand work to programming machinery.

Manual driver’s licence or ability to obtain one soon (preferred).

Bonus points for

Any exposure to Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, AutoCAD, Fusion 360 or similar.

Basic understanding of software programming or automation.

Previous vocational studies in design & tech, metalwork, woodworking or electronics.
