Overview:

This role will be based in Parramatta.

The work will be completed hybrid / part WFH.

The contract role is signed off to end June 2026, and may well extend further.

Our client is a large, very well respected organisation.

We have worked with them for years now, and feedback from contactors has always been very favourable.

Snapshot of Role:

This role is for a Senior DevOps Engineer who enjoys being a key player in a team environment where a number of different technologies are in use.

The role will report to the Manager, Digital Portfolio Systems and Delivery.

The ‘base’ is AWS (Azure and Google not used), so very good experience and knowledge is essential here (we would expect a minimum of 5 years with intensive AWS work).

( On the apps side, there are some 30 in use, with Java, React and Angular dev teams. )

There are 12 AWS accounts to manage. User access, monitoring accounts (re AWS upgrades), etc.

You will be working on:

· Deploying software upgrades.

· Deployments to production (working with the devs re regarding issues, etc.).

· You will be troubleshooting; configurations; looking at logs, etc.

· While a lot of the work will be pretty much “sleeves rolled up”, you also will be involved with planning for new services (aka roadmaps) and upgrades; also looking at operational costs and options.

And,

· You should be good with Bamboo CI/CD – both builds and deployments.

· Experienced with AWS Serverless.

· Experienced with Shell / Bush / Python scripting.

We are looking for someone who has more of a ‘developer’ mindset than an ‘infrastructure’ mindset here.

Additionally, we want someone who can multi-task!

Qualifications:

It would be considered a ‘plus’ if you have AWS certifications and other relevant certifications / training. Formal IT qualifications are desired but not mandatory.
