Legion Drilling is looking for a data-driven Safety & Training Manager to lead risk, safety, and training initiatives across our national drilling operations. This role is based in Brisbane, however we are open to applications from candidates in Sydney who are willing to travel regularly for site visits, audits, and team engagement.

About the Role

You’ll oversee safety and training activities across our Sydney, Brisbane, and Townsville operations. This includes managing HSEQ systems, ISO audits, risk controls and safety KPI's.

Key responsibilities:

Develop and implement safety systems and documentation

Lead investigations and ensure incident actions are closed out

Maintain and report on safety and quality performance metrics

Conduct site safety audits and risk assessments

Manage training records, inductions, and return-to-work programs

Support and maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 compliance

Represent Legion Drilling with clients and regulators

What We’re Looking For

Strong experience in WHS or HSEQ roles, ideally in drilling, mining, or heavy industry

Proven ability in risk management, incident analysis, and continuous improvement

Confident using data and systems to track performance and guide actions

Solid knowledge of ISO 45001 & 9001 frameworks

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Willingness to travel for site work and audits

Relevant qualifications in Work Health and Safety, Risk, or related fields
