The Opportunity
Join us in building a safer digital future for our community by leading the delivery of Council's cyber security operations portfolio. This dynamic role combines both administrative and hands-on responsibilities across key areas such as incident response, security investigations, vulnerability management, and security controls implementation.
You'll play a key role in strengthening Council's cyber security resilience and safeguarding our digital infrastructure. Working closely with internal teams and trusted external partners, you'll help ensure the protection of sensitive data and systems. You'll also provide guidance and support to a small team of cadets, helping foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
This is a Permanent Full-Time position and may include on-call or overtime work - dependant on operational requirements. Salary starting from $114,532.72 per annum, plus superannuation (Salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications)
How you'll contribute
In this position, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding Council's digital infrastructure and ensuring the effectiveness of our cyber security operations. You will spearhead proactive threat identification and response activities, conduct thorough incident investigations, and coordinate prompt remediation of vulnerabilities across both cloud-based and on-premises environments.
Your knowledge will influence Council's cyber risk management through forensic investigations, penetration testing, and the creation of security awareness programs. Serving as a key escalation point for critical security incidents, you will also help enhance our security measures and incident response procedures.
Collaboration with stakeholders, vendors, and application owners will be essential as you deliver high-standard security services, maintain comprehensive documentation, and support ITIL-compliant service management processes. Additionally, you will mentor cyber cadets, fostering a cooperative and high-achieving team atmosphere.
