We have exciting opportunities for experienced and passionate Chef's to work within the main kitchen for our client who are located in Jesmond.

These are casual positions, which means your hours will vary from week to week.

The kitchen environment is very busy so you must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure.

About the role:

In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in enhancing the daily lives of the residents by delivering high-quality, nutritious, and appetizing meals that promote both wellbeing and enjoyment.

Key responsibilities include:

All food is prepared from scratch at our onsite kitchen. It is essential you have experience in a fast-paced kitchen, have a vast cooking knowledge and a positive attitude for working with the elderly. Preparing and presenting meals that cater to a variety of dietary requirements, including texture-modified diets, supplements, and other specialised nutritional needs.

Collaborating with clinical and care staff to ensure each resident’s individual health needs and preferences are met through tailored meal planning.

Ordering and managing stock efficiently and cost-effectively, while maintaining a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment.

Upholding rigorous food safety standards, ensuring full compliance with HACCP procedures and all relevant food handling regulations.

Contributing to a warm and welcoming dining experience, where meals are not only nutritious but are also served with care and respect.

Rotating Shifts up to 38hrs per week:

Monday to Sunday 6am to 2pm

Monday to Sunday 9am to 7.30pm

Great working hours, no split shifts.

To be Successful:

Hold a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).

Hold a Food Handlers Certificate (FSAs)

Have experience in a Residential Aged Care kitchen environment

Have worked with specialised diets, including supplements and texture modified foods

Fully conversant with HACCP and food safety legislation

A current Police Check

Australian working rights

2x relatable work references
