Our AOT is a vibrant, non-acute community team that supports people within the Central Coast Local Health District, offering intensive and tailored support to those with complex mental health needs. As an Occupational Therapist on our team, you’ll play a pivotal role in helping individuals reclaim their independence and navigate daily life with confidence – all while being part of a compassionate and collaborative team.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist in the Mental Health Assertive Outreach Team (AOT), you’ll play a vital role in delivering person-centred, recovery-focused care to individuals with complex and persistent mental health conditions. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting vulnerable members of the community to live healthier, more independent lives.

Working collaboratively with consumers, their families, carers, and a multidisciplinary team, you’ll provide expert clinical recommendations and therapeutic interventions guided by current mental health standards and best practice frameworks.

Based at the Toukley Health Centre, you’ll be part of a supportive and experienced team committed to innovation, compassion, and collaboration. There’s also room to enhance your clinical knowledge and skills in specialised areas of mental health, with access to ongoing professional development.

About You

You have:

Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Demonstrated capacity to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, with experience across diverse mental health settings.

Sound understanding of how severe mental illness can impact functional performance, along with demonstrated knowledge of relevant occupational therapy assessments and intervention strategies.
