Permanent full-time role available, 76 hours p.f.

Working with us

  • Base salary ranges between $75,090 and $103,261 p.a. (HWF3).
  • For 1 year will get you an isolation bonus of AUD$3,500. If you stay for 2 years you will get AUD$10,500… and for your 3rd year (and every year after that) you will get AUD$7,000.
  • Providing 2 return airfares p.a. (inc. spouse/dependents) to the nearest east coast provincial city in conjunction with your recreation leave.

About the role

This role will work in partnership with women and their families within a supportive multidisciplinary team to support First Nations woman who may be pregnant and require ante natal care, and work autonomously within the community, in line with the delegation of authority framework for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners.

Requirements

  • It is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. It is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 that applicants are Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders.
  • Appointment to this position requires proof of a Certificate IV Aboriginal Torres Strat Islander Primary Health Care (Practice) and Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health.
  • Applicants who do not hold the mandatory qualification requirements, but believe they have the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the role as outlined, and will commit to completing the qualification(s) within an agreed timeframe if appointed, are encouraged to apply.
  • C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
  • Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
  • Potential applicants are advised that the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian Act 2000 requires Queensland Health to seek a ‘working with children check, from the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian prior to appointment to this position.
  • This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, and Pertussis.
  • A period of probation may apply.
