Join the dynamic Corporate Affairs and Marketing team at the Translational Research Institute (TRI) and help us deliver high-quality experiences, communications, and brand presence that support our mission to improve health outcomes through translational research.
About the Role
This diverse and hands-on role is split across three main areas:
Events Support (Approximately 40%)
Support the events team to deliver 200 – 300 events per year in TRI’s award winning event spaces.
Assist with event bookings, catering, supplier management, ordering, registration, approval processes, room hire quotes and invoices as well as providing hands-on support on event days.
Graphic Design & Marketing Support (Approximately 40%)
Use Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop to create engaging marketing and event collateral in line with TRI’s brand guidelines (including flyers, signage, presentations, merchandise)
Assist in maintaining and updating content across the TRI website and intranet.
General Administration (Approximately 20%)
Provide support in sourcing, ordering and branding merchandise.
Support the team by managing shared inboxes, responding to enquiries, scheduling meetings, and processing invoices.
This role is offered on a Maximum-Term Contract for up to 12 months. To provide greater flexibility, the working hours available are between 30.4 hours - 38 hours a week (depending on the preference of the successful candidate).
About You
You will be someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys balancing creativity with operational execution. To be successful, you’ll bring:
Proven experience in event coordination, marketing, or a similar administrative support role.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop).
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
A proactive attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves – from setting up event spaces to crafting eye-catching promotional content.
Experience using CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress or similar) is desirable.
Qualifications and Experience
You are a recent graduate (or nearing completion) with qualifications in marketing, events, design, communications, or a related field (university or TAFE), and bring 1–2 years of hands-on experience in events, marketing, graphic design, or a similar area.
