We are seeking a reliable and practical Maintenance Officer to join our secondary school community in a part-time capacity (12-16 hours).

This role offers flexible working hours and the potential to increase hours over time for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out general handyman duties including:

Patching and repairing plaster

Painting and surface preparation

Minor carpentry and repairs to doors, locks, and fixtures

Assist with the upkeep of school facilities to ensure a safe and functional environment

Perform tasks at heights when required (e.g., cleaning gutters, replacing light fittings)

Maintain tools and equipment in good working order

Support with occasional setup for school events or furniture moves

Requirements:

Previous experience in general maintenance or handyman work preferred

Willingness to work at heights (EWP or working-at-heights qualification beneficial; training can be provided)

Ability to work independently and show initiative

A friendly, professional attitude and respect for working in a school environment

Valid Working With Children Check or willingness to obtain one

Availability for flexible work hours during the school week and possibly weekends
