What we do is integral to the Government’s decision-making processes about where and how to spend taxpayer’s money to ensure Western Australians have access to quality services on a financially sustainable basis.

We lead procurement and leverage our buying power to secure products and services for government, achieving value for money for WA.

We collect revenue to fund government services and administer payment of grants and subsidies to the WA community.

When you join us, you can enjoy a variety of benefits, including:

  • flexible work options, including working from home up to 2 days per week.
  • professional development, training, and on-the-job learning to advance your career.
  • generous leave entitlements, which include 4 weeks annual leave, 3 public service holidays each year, accrued long service leave every 7 years and an option to purchase additional leave each year. Access to cultural leave for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
  • corporate discounts with selected health insurance providers and access to wellness programs.
  • Opportunity to support our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), Disability Access and Inclusion Plan and various Diversity and Inclusion Working Groups and Committees.

The work area

RevenueWA collects revenue on behalf of the Government and pays grants and subsidies to Western Australians. Although a business unit within DTF, the Commissioner of State Revenue is an independent statutory role and is personally responsible for the administration of State taxation and grant laws by RevenueWA staff. This administrative function covers the application of duties, land tax and payroll tax laws, as well as carrying out compliance audits and investigations, and developing revenue related legislation. RevenueWA increases taxpayer awareness through education programs and manages the legislative appeals process.

The Department of Treasury and Finance currently operates under two sets of organisational values, following its formation on 1 July 2025. The values of clarity, empathy, growth and collaboration continue to guide everything we do in RevenueWA. In time, as we settle in our new structure and culture, we will collaboratively develop a unified set of values that represent who we are as the Department of Treasury and Finance.
