The Company

Our client is a boutique accounting firm based in Five Dock, proudly servicing a loyal base of individuals, small businesses, and large private clients since the 1970s. Built entirely on trust and reputation, this is a firm that values people and relationships over marketing or flash. The culture is warm, old-school, and collaborative—staff turnover is low, and many clients have been with them for decades.

They are now looking to hire a new Accountant as a valued long-standing team member transitions into retirement after 21 years.

The Role

In this role, you’ll work alongside the founder and another Accountant to manage a portfolio of long-term clients. Duties will include:

Preparation of tax returns and financial statements for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and companies

SMSF audit preparation and compliance

BAS and IAS lodgement

Liaising directly with clients to gather info, provide advice, and maintain strong relationships

Light bookkeeping and payroll duties for smaller clients

Supporting the broader team where needed to maintain continuity

Your Background

To be considered for this Accountant role, you must possess most of the following attributes:

5+ years’ experience in a small public practice firm

Strong communication skills and a solid understanding of Australian tax

SMSF experience will be highly regarded

Great attention to detail and willingness to learn
