About the role:
In this position, your role will involve the preparation and delivering of various business services, including compliance, tax planning, and structuring, to an array of clients. You will operate with limited but yet a structured supervision. Your direct reporting will be to the Practice Director. Your primary duty will involve ensuring that the services provided to our clients are completed thoroughly and accurate, whilst fostering a benevolent and positive client relationship.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and other financial reports to provide accurate and timely financial information to management and stakeholders.
Preparing of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow statements to support effective decision-making.
Liaising with Australian Taxation Office (ATO), ASIC and other regulatory bodies when required
Examining operating costs and organisations income and expenditure.
Preparing and reviewing Profit and Loss statements for each business unit to understand overall financial position of the business
Reconciling financial discrepancies by collecting and analysing accounting information
Reviewing employee salaries, wages, taxes, and superannuation benefits to ensure they are followed as per relevant regulations and company policies.
Utilising accounting software and tools to record, analyse, and report financial data accurately and efficiently.
Assisting with the annual audit process, including providing relevant documentation, answering queries, and addressing audit findings in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensuring strict adherence to company policies and internal controls to maintain financial integrity and compliance.
Supporting enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation programmes. You will be a fully qualified accountant with a strong, proven background within the professional practice arena having an in-depth knowledge of accounting fundamentals, personal & corporate tax.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Minimum 2-3 years working experience in a similar role
Experience in working with mainstream software; Xero, MYOB, etc
Experience in Accounting practices, bookkeeping & taxation
Experience in managing client assignments.
Experience working independently and as a member of a team.
At least bachelor’s degree in accounting & finance
Hold or in the process of concluding professional year certification (e.g., CPA, CA, IPA). Must hold a minimum, Associate level.
In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, tax regulations, business practices, cost accounting and reporting
Excellent knowledge or risk analysis, budgeting and forecasting

Analytical: Possess strong technical and analytical skills in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance
