Reporting to the Manager IT Solutions, this role leads the operational heartbeat of Council’s IT function. You’ll be the go-to person for enterprise architecture, infrastructure, systems, support and cybersecurity, driving innovation and resilience while making tech feel simple and seamless for end users.

Position Description - Team Leader IT Business Operations

Key responsibilities include:

Lead the delivery of enterprise application and infrastructure strategy, governance and security

Oversee day-to-day IT operations including service desk, systems administration, networks and enterprise architecture

Drive strategic IT governance and risk management, ensuring alignment with business needs and compliance frameworks

Foster innovation and continuous improvement in service delivery, IT support and customer experience

Implement and maintain Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans for critical systems

Embed a business partnering model to strengthen internal relationships and service outcomes

Build a culture of leadership, ownership and accountability within your team

This role is ideal for someone who knows tech, loves people, and thrives in a leadership role where no two days are the same.

About you

Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business Management or a related field

Extensive leadership experience across IT infrastructure, enterprise architecture, cyber security and operations

Strong stakeholder engagement and vendor relationship management skills

Excellent communication and coaching capabilities, with a customer-first mindset

Proven capability in strategic planning, service delivery, and managing critical IT risk

Demonstrated experience in governance, compliance, and leading high-performing tech teams

Knowledge of ITIL, enterprise risk and project management frameworks

Personal integrity, sound judgement, and a commitment to continuous improvement

Current SA Class C Driver’s Licence

Be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical and police check

Salary range is between $128,618 - $136,775 plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.
