Employment Type: Part Time – 2 Days Per Week - Thursdays & Fridays - Opportunity for Wednesdays in future.

Position Purpose

This position is responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care to clients undergoing Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) therapy. As a Registered Nurse and certified TMS operator, you will independently administer TMS treatments under the supervision of a psychiatrist, monitor client safety and comfort, and support clients throughout their treatment journey. You will play a key role in advancing mental health care through innovative, non-invasive therapy and contribute to the quality and efficiency of our clinical services.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care and TMS Delivery

Administer TMS treatments in accordance with evidence-based protocols and manufacturer guidelines

Monitor clients during and after sessions for adverse effects or emotional distress

Conduct pre-treatment screening checks and post-session wellbeing reviews

Accurately document session details and client responses

Patient Education and Support

Explain TMS procedures, expectations, side effects, and post-care to clients

Provide emotional reassurance and build therapeutic rapport

Respond to client concerns with professionalism and empathy

Equipment and Safety Compliance

Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot TMS devices

Perform regular equipment checks and calibration

Comply with infection control, workplace safety, and clinical risk policies

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

Liaise with psychiatrists, psychologists, and care coordinators to support individualised treatment plans

Participate in case reviews, handovers, and team meetings

Escalate clinical concerns to the appropriate team members promptly

Additional Clinical Duties

Assist with general nursing tasks such as vital signs, and crisis response as needed

Maintain accurate clinical records using EMR systems

Contribute to continuous improvement of mental health services and clinical practices

Selection Criteria

Essential:

Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration

Certification as a TMS operator

Demonstrated experience in mental health or a similar therapeutic setting

Proficient in conducting client assessments and monitoring for side effects or risks

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured clinical protocols

Desirable:

Familiarity with mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and evidence-based treatments

Experience working in a trauma-informed or recovery-oriented care model

Prior experience using EMR or clinical documentation systems

Mandatory Checks and Certifications

Current Police Check

Current First Aid Certification

NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
