About the Job
Our Eagle Farm Pet Hotel is seeking a PERMANENT PART-TIME reliable and experienced Maintenance Officer.
Reporting to the Pet Hotel Manager, this role requires a hands-on and proactive worker to ensure the appearance and upkeep of the facility is kept at a high standard, as well as supporting with improvement projects to enhance the Pet & Customer experience.
- Permanent Part-time role – 15 to 22.5 hours per week (typically 2 to 3 shifts per week) with opportunities to flex up to full time work when undertaking large projects. Days per week are negotiable.
- You will carry out assigned property repairs and modifications, cleaning duties, and grounds maintenance.
- Proactively carry out inspections to detect and rectify issues.
- Work in consultation with the Pet Hotel Manager to assist with projects that benefit the appearance and growth of the facility.
- Competitive hourly rate of $36.14 per hour dependent on applicant experience Plus Penalties.
Hours are Monday to Friday; however, you may be needed outside of hours from time to time for emergency repairs.
About You
- Have solid handyman skills (formal trade qualifications are preferred but not essential).
- Landscaping and gardening skills.
- Enjoy practical, hands-on work with the attitude of getting things done.
- Enjoy autonomy to achieve outstanding outcomes / achievements.
- Strong work ethic demonstrating high standards of responsibility, reliability and accountability.
- Enjoy working with a passionate team and demonstrate positive interpersonal and communication skills.
- Well-organised with strong planning, and the drive to complete actions within agreed timeframes.
- You must be comfortable working in an environment that houses dogs and cats.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a handyman/maintenance position preferred.
- Previous experience in property, facility, or grounds maintenance (aged-care centres, leisure centres, schools) would be ideal.
IMPORTANT: this is an active and physical role required to work outdoors (sometimes in inclement weather conditions) and in close proximity to cats and dogs. The incumbent will be on their feet for the majority of their shift; and must be able to walk, lift, carry, push, pull, bend, crouch, kneel, reach, stretch, and work at heights in order to perform the inherent requirements of the role.
