About the Role
We’re seeking a Machine Specialist / Operator with proven expertise in both digital label printing and flexographic press operation. You’ll be essential to our production team ensuring labels meet precise colour, durability, and safety standards.
Reporting to the Operations Manager your role will include the following:
Key Responsibilities
Operate, calibrate, and maintain digital and flexographic printing presses ensuring high-quality output in line with production schedules and documented procedures.
Perform print setup, file preparation, and job release from print queues, maintaining accurate daily logs and production records.
Monitor print quality by adjusting ink, plates, colour calibration, print position, and tension settings to meet stringent material and colour accuracy standards.
Conduct regular quality assurance checks for graphics, quantity, substrate, and finish, ensuring consistency and compliance with Mermed’s specifications.
Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs to minimise downtime and maintain machine reliability.
Manage inventory of consumables including ink, chemicals, rollers, paper, and related materials to support continuous production.
Ensure full compliance with all company policies including OHS/WHS, security protocols, ISO standards, code of conduct, and clean-room procedures.
Collaborate with the Operations Manager and production team to meet output goals and uphold ISO-certified processes.
Actively contribute to team meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Escalate production or equipment issues promptly and assist with general operational tasks as required.
