The Role:

Bring the magic to life as you learn the ropes of staging, lighting, and audio for shows and performances as a Live Production and Staging Trainee at the Mackay Entertainment and Convention Centre. This role opens doors to a backstage career in the entertainment industry worldwide!

You'll have the chance to work on a diverse range of events, including theatre productions, conferences, and outdoor functions.

Timeframe and Qualification:

This is a 12-month traineeship. On completion you will obtain a Certificate III in Live Production and Technical Services.

This is a traineeship and is ideal for school leavers, those new to the industry or seeking a career change. Eligibility criteria apply if you hold existing qualifications in this area.

What you will need to succeed:

  • An active planner and problem-solver who is a motivated self-starter that takes initiative.
  • Interested in supporting the backstage roles (staging, audio, visual and lighting) for conferences, theatre productions and outdoor functions.
  • Good verbal communication skills and a desire to provide good service to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to get on well with others and grow positive working relationships with colleagues.
  • Physically fit and able to conduct manual handling tasks.
  • Successful completion of Year 10 is desirable, but not required.
