What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll work side-by-side with experienced butchers to learn every aspect of the trade – from knife skills and meat prep to customer service and food safety. Day-to-day, you’ll:

Learn to cut, trim, bone, and prepare meats to high Cannings standards

Assist with stock rotation, quality checks, and meat displays

Help fulfil customer orders and special requests

Maintain strict food safety and hygiene practices

Keep your workspace spotless and organised

Grow your confidence and capabilities in a fast-paced retail environment

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who:

Has existing meat industry experience (can be in a counterhand role or similar)

Is passionate about food and keen to learn a real trade

Has strong attention to detail and takes pride in their work

Thrives in a team environment and communicates well

Is reliable, punctual, and willing to work across weekdays and weekends
