Position Overview

We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Disability Support Workers to join our growing team. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide direct, impactful care and psychosocial support to NDIS participants with complex mental health needs in both community and residential settings.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver tailored one-on-one and group support to individuals with mental health and psychosocial disabilities.

Promote emotional well-being, independence, and capacity-building in daily living skills (e.g., hygiene, meal prep, medication prompts, budgeting).

Implement and review individualised support plans in collaboration with clients, families, and allied health professionals.

Encourage community participation and reduce social isolation through meaningful engagement and activities.

Respond effectively to crisis situations, applying de-escalation techniques and supporting behaviour management strategies.

Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation, including progress notes, incident reports, and risk assessments.

Uphold client confidentiality and ensure compliance with NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission standards.

Work collaboratively with CCSS teams, coordinators, case workers, and external providers to ensure holistic care delivery.

What We're Looking For

A genuine commitment to improving the lives of people with disabilities and mental health conditions.

Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, recovery models, and psychosocial support frameworks.

Clear communication skills and a non-judgmental, respectful approach to client relationships.

Experience supporting clients with dual diagnosis or complex behaviours (desirable).

Emotional resilience, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

Certificate IV in Mental Health, Disability, or related field (highly desirable)

Minimum 6 months experience supporting individuals with mental health conditions or disabilities (desired)

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check

Current Working With Children Blue Card

Current Police Check (issued within the last 12 months)

Mental Health First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain within 3 months of employment)

Current First Aid & CPR Certificate

Valid Australian Driver's Licence

Own vehicle with Roadworthy Certificate and Full Comprehensive Insurance

Reliable vehicle with current roadworthy certificate and comprehensive insurance

Fluent English speaking and writing skills required; additional languages beneficial
