The Opportunity

This is a key commercial role focused on standardising and harmonising legal processes across the commercial business divisions. Reporting to the Head of Commercial, Legal and Risk, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of commercial contracts and legal documentation, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and compliance.

This hands-on role is perfect for a commercially-minded lawyer or contract manager who excels at process improvement and enjoys working closely with business operations. You will be the primary contact for the business operations across manufacturing and a customer base in the mining, rail and infrastructure industries. Furthermore, you will have strong stakeholder engagement skills interfacing with leaders across Sales, Engineering, Operations, IT, the Finance team, and external legal making your voice influential at a cross-functional level.

What You'll Do

You are an accomplished, strategic, and hands-on Contract Manager with a proven track record of managing end-to-end commercial contracts and legal documentation in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment. Your core responsibilities will encompass:

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements.

Leading the standardisation of contract templates and legal processes across the Group.

Developing, implementing, and maintaining a central contract database.

Providing practical, timely, and commercially-focused legal advice to business managers and commercial teams.

Driving the harmonisation of contractual documentation and developing standardised templates.

Acting as the key point of contact for business managers, providing practical advice on contractual obligations, risk exposure, and negotiation strategies.

Ensuring all contracts comply with company policies and relevant regulations and providing regular reporting on key contractual metrics and risks.

Identifying opportunities to improve legal and contracting workflows.

Providing support on broader legal and compliance projects as required.

What You'll Bring

Tertiary qualification in Law, Business, or a related discipline.

Extensive experience in a dedicated contract management role, either in-house or for a legal organisation.

Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial contracts.

Experience in developing and implementing standardised legal templates and processes.

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to build strong relationships with commercial stakeholders.

A demonstrated background in commercial sectors such as manufacturing, resources, infrastructure, or technology is highly advantageous.
