About the Role

This permanent position will have you working as part of a dynamic team within the Contracts and Procurement Department. The role is responsible for working with external customers and stakeholders in establishing and managing strategic, complex, high value, high risk and business critical contracts in accordance with the objectives of FRV’s Strategic Business Plan.

Functional Accountabilities include:

Ensure the successful on time establishment and management of complex, strategic, high value (across sector) contracts

Identify opportunities to provide reduction in total cost of ownership across the business by engaging in spend analysis, market investigation and various stakeholder management, considering areas such as risks, trends and new opportunities and continuity of supply in sustainable arrangements

Develop and implement transparent, appropriate practice procurement strategies and processes to deliver best value for money outcomes on a timely basis

Use tools and techniques to profile, benchmark research and assess current and future supply markets to assist in the creation of a Category Management Plan and strategy process

Facilitate the planning and execution of activities to deliver arrangements that meet business objectives as described within the sourcing planning document.

Ensure the review and ongoing management of agreed categories is conducted in partnership with key internal customers

Identify and confirm their requirements and expectations and consider and address, as part of the planning process and subsequently support the customers in the management of the resultant contracted outcome.

What you will need to Succeed

To be successful in this position, you will have:

Appropriate CIPSA certification for procurement or equivalent

University degree in relevant field

Substantial sourcing and contract management experience

Sound knowledge of best strategic sourcing practices plus customer focused with excellent influencing and negotiating skills

Demonstrated ability to plan, manage and implement complex sourcing and contract management activities in compliance with Victorian Government Procurement Guidelines

Ability to undertake complex and medium to high-risk contract negotiations to achieve best outcomes.

FRV’s standard practice is to appoint at the base of the salary range, however consideration will be given to an above base salary within the advertised range based on the successful candidate’s skills and experience.
