Project Engineer – NSW Government

Location: Yass, NSW
Rate: $900–$1,000 per day + Super
Assignment Duration: Anticipated until 28 November 2025, with potential to extend
Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support a major infrastructure program in regional New South Wales. Working with a high-profile government agency, this role will suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is confident managing the end-to-end delivery of road and transport projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and deliver road, bridge or traffic infrastructure and/or maintenance projects to meet agreed time, cost, quality and scope outcomes
• Oversee the investigation and design process, including developing project briefs, estimates and managing service providers
• Prepare and administer contract documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and policies
• Implement effective cost management systems, WHS procedures, and environmental controls
• Liaise with key stakeholders across internal teams, contractors, community groups and local government

About You:

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil, Electrical or a related engineering discipline
• Demonstrated experience delivering infrastructure or maintenance projects, ideally in a government setting
• Strong understanding of contract management, construction methods, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Current and valid Australian driver’s licence, with flexibility to travel as required.
