Westug Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Engage Marine Pty Ltd, is an Australian port operations provider delivering specialised marine services to a variety of industries. Headquartered in Perth, Western Australia, Engage Marine also has operational bases throughout Australia including Abbot Point, Geelong, Sydney, Port Latta, Whyalla, Far North Queensland and Carnarvon.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Electrician with industrial or marine experience to join the shore-side maintenance team at our Dampier operations in the Pilbara.

Within this role, you will be responsible for a range of electrical, phone and data, domestic and commercial installation and repairs.

The role, as with all the shore-based trades, reports to the Maintenance Supervisor with the successful candidate responsible for all electrical equipment maintenance on-board Westug managed vessels. This involves having an understanding of marine operations as well as the operation of individual vessels and components.

The salary is $140,000 - $155,000 (experience dependant) + a Housing Allowance

This role is residential only. You must reside in the greater Karratha area or relocate if successful.

General Accountabilities

Inspections and repairs of electrical equipment including 12, 24 and 240 (where vessel applicable) volt systems.

Basic understanding of radio and navigational equipment

Fault finding & repairs

Understanding of the test and repair of PLC and system control systems

Switchboard function testing

Pressure sensor testing & calibration

Responsible for ensuring all of the necessary tools, equipment, and supplies that are required in the course of their duties are utilised to the safest and highest standards and re-ordered when running low.

Responsible for the start-up and shutdown of machinery as related to the role.

Pre-requisites

Australian Recognised Trade Qualification in the Electrical Field or equivalent.

Licence to Perform Electrical Work (Relevant to the State in which duties are performed).

A current A Grade Electrical License

Full ARC Refrigeration License (highly regarded)

MSIC (or eligibility to hold one)

WA Class C Manual Drivers License
