KETO Pump Technology Services designs, manufactures, and repairs leading pump solutions for mining, industrial, and mineral processing operations. With our previous QC Assistant moving into an apprenticeship as a Mechanical Fitter, we’re looking for someone to take on this key role.

This position includes a monthly commission bonus as part of your salary package. The bonus is tied to total invoicing each month, and QC plays a big role in helping that number grow. Getting jobs out accurately and on time makes a difference for the business and for the whole team. Everyone’s effort counts, and we succeed together.

Why work with us?

KETO is a locally owned and operated business, with the shareholders working in the business alongside the team. It’s a practical workplace with work-life balance and a strong sense of teamwork and shared accountability.

We often have comments that it’s a good place to work because the team is welcoming, helpful, and willing to share knowledge. Everyone gets stuck in, and the support across departments is noticeable, especially for those who want to learn and grow in the role.

As much as we work hard, we also know how to keep things balanced. There’s time for a chat, breaks when needed, and no one’s breathing down your neck. We don’t micromanage because we need to trust our people to do their job and get on with it.

What the job involves

The QC Assistant works in our warehouse’s inspection area, performing quality control checks to ensure all parts meet certain specifications. You’ll use tools like verniers, micrometres, height gauges and a CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine), and other parts to check a wide variety of components.

Some tasks are repetitive. At times, you’ll be measuring 30 or more of the same item, and each one needs the same level of attention. It’s detailed, methodical work — a good fit for someone who’s focused, patient, and doesn’t cut corners.

Some things you will do in this role:

Read and interpret engineering drawings to measure off key dimensions

Use our SAP system to move goods and find parts

Stamp or engrave parts with batch information

Move around items with an overhead crane

Operate a forklift to move parts out of the QC process into Paint

Occasionally do grinding or fettling work to prepare parts for paint or assembly

Learn how to build a pump if the fitters require some hands

The job itself is easy to learn with repetition, and you'll be shown everything on the job. We've had people join us from completely different backgrounds (or fresh out of school) and are doing amazing. It comes down to having the care factor and being able to pick up on the little details. Whether you’re someone who takes notes or just has a good memory and a knack for process, you’ll do well here if you’re willing to learn.

What we’re looking for

No formal qualifications are required. Previous experience with mechanical equipment is useful, but not essential. A forklift ticket is required (or we’ll support you to get one if you’re a good fit!).

We’re mainly looking for someone who:

Has a strong work ethic

Pays close attention to detail

Works well in a team and anonymously

Is reliable and methodical in how they approach tasks

Potential to grow

People who’ve started in similar roles on the floor have moved into positions like Operations Supervisor, Internal Sales and Apprentice Mechanical Fitter. If you’re someone who sticks with it, this job can potentially open a number of pathways over time.

Our values (EAT PIE):
Excellence

Envision the ideal quality level that can be achieved, be it product, service or process and achieve it.

Accountability

Own your role, take ownership and responsibility.

Teamwork

Trust your team, offer assistance and support to achieve collective goals. Pick each other up.

Proactivity

Constantly meet client and colleagues’ expectations, be self-motivated, go above and beyond. Keep it positive.

Integrity

Be transparent and honest, with clients and colleagues.

Ethics

Do the right thing, not just the correct thing.
