Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Business Support Officer for a Land project based in Canberra to manage business processes for below the line contracts.

What You'll Do

• This role offers a broad scope, with key responsibilities including:
  
• Support and manage business to business processes for below the line contracts, including vendor onboarding and contract governance.
  
• Coordinate project documentation and data using Defence systems such as Objective and Teams.
  
• Prepare briefs, reports, and submissions for governance forums and monthly performance reviews.
  
• Assist with complex procurement activities, including reviewing solicitation documents and evaluating industry responses.
  
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and maintain effective relationships and influence project outcomes.
  

What You'll Bring

• Proven experience working in complex environments with diverse stakeholders.

• Strong communication skills, including advanced technical writing and formal briefings.

• Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver work to time, cost, and quality standards.
  
• Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent experience in project or contract management, with over 8 years in the field.
  
• Understanding of Defence project finances, acquisition practices,
  
• Currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth.
  
• In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be an inherent requirement.
