Mental Health Support Worker – Wollongong | Casual

At Sydney Health & Care Services (SHCS), we believe in showing up for people when it matters most. We deliver person-centred, trauma-informed support that promotes dignity, connection, and growth. We’re now seeking passionate, reliable Support Workers to join our Wollongong-based team.

This is a casual role with the option to move into part-time, and we provide paid training, including for complex care.

About the Role:

Support people living with autism, psychosocial disability, and complex mental health, including mood disorders, anxiety, and behavioural challenges.

Deliver home-based and community support tailored to individual recovery goals.

Assist with personal care, medication prompts, emotional regulation, and social connection.

Use de-escalation strategies and relationship-based support to foster stability and independence.

Follow Behavioural Support Plans and complete documentation as required.

Transport clients to appointments, recreational activities, and group programs.

About You:

Experience with autism, psychosocial disability, or complex behaviours.

Confident in supporting individuals with verbal aggression or dysregulation.

Calm, emotionally intelligent, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Insulin and/or Mental Health First Aid training highly regarded.

Comfortable using basic technology and reporting tools.

Current licence and reliable vehicle.

Working with Children Check

NSW Police Check

Driver’s Licence and own transport
