Anyone can refer themselves to our team. From setting goals to liaising with GPs to vital referrals to other services, we provide practical advice and specialist support for people who want to move on from alcohol and drug use, as well as their families or support networks. Together, we help them understand their triggers and manage the withdrawal process at home.

Your role at St John of God Social Outreach
We are looking to hire a Manager Drug & Alcohol Withdrawal Network to join and lead our Subiaco team in Perth, on a permanent full-time basis.

This role supports and maintains the framework for activities within Social Outreach services, which will include strategic development, service planning and delivery of Drug and Alcohol Withdrawal Network (DAWN) services.

Primary responsibilities of the role are to manage the services and activities of the DAWN service including the ongoing development and monitoring of services delivered in accordance with contract specifications.

The Position

  • Increases the level of cooperation and partnerships with other services and agencies, including local government, and other key stakeholder groups to support an individualised approach to working with those who have drug use, substance misuse and mental health related problems.
  • Supports community initiatives that address alcohol and other drug problems.
  • Supports and maintains a framework for the identification, selection and prioritisation, implementation and evaluation of DAWN activities.
  • Provides operational input into the development of the Social Outreach Strategic Plan to the Director.
  • Implements selected DAWN programs in accordance with the services annual Operational Plan.
  • Provide leadership, through effective personal, professional communication, and interpersonal capabilities and change management as well as team and strategic capabilities

To succeed you will possess a tertiary qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or Occupational Therapy and have AOD experience. As a manager, you will demonstrate experience and effectiveness in service planning, development, implementation, evaluation and strong budget management. You will have a significant depth of understanding and experience working with communities to develop social capital.

We can offer:

  • Salary: $124,196 to $137,946 per annum, plus 12% Superannuation
  • Permanent full-time, working 38 hours per week
