This is a critical early stage hire that will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s business development framework and long-term strategy, not only in the Australian and New Zealand market, but as a foundation for future global expansion. While our immediate focus is on establishing and scaling our international trade business development between Australia, New Zealand and China, our long-term vision is to expand into other international markets across Asia, Europe, and America. About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and connected International Trade Director/Manager to join our Sydney CBD team. This is a unique opportunity to play a foundational role in launching and leading Kingold’s food import/export operations in Australia.

You will manage end-to-end international trade processes, including international logistics management, export deliveries, and sourcing premium Australian and New Zealand meat, seafood, fruit, vegetables and other food resources. You will be reporting to the CEO of Kingold Global Food Import and Export Pty Ltd. A strong international trade network in the Australia-China export industry is essential, along with in-depth knowledge of customs and regulatory procedures, especially in the Australia–China trade corridor.

What We’re Looking For

10+ years of experience in global trade, ideally in the Agri-food sectors

Experienced in distrbution strategies and leveraging existing trade network to generate product sales in overseas market, especially in China.

Proven network within the Australian food procurement industry, especially in meat, seafood, and agricultural commodities

Strong negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and relationship management capabilities

Deep understanding of international trade laws, customs procedures, and compliance requirements for Australia, New Zealand and China

Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Business, or a related field

Skilled in trade and procurement software platforms

Key Responsibilities

Oversee all import/export operations, ensuring full compliance with Australian, New Zealand and Chinese customs and trade regulations

Build and maintain long-term relationships with suppliers, logistics providers, and international customers

Develop and execute global trade strategies that ensure efficient, cost-effective, and scalable logistics solutions

Strategically access and capitalise on opportunities within China buyer market through newly built relationships and distribution channels

Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform sourcing and trade strategy

Provide leadership and direction to a growing team of trade and procurement professionals

Lead the full procurement lifecycle, from supplier identification and negotiation to inventory management and order fulfilment

Leverage existing procurement networks to secure high-quality Australian food products, especially meat and seafood
