About the role

Trucksmart is seeking an experienced and dedicated Leading Hand to join our team in Beresfield, NSW. As a Leading Hand, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and help coordinate the day-to-day operations of our busy heavy vehicle workshop. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What you'll be doing

Supervising and delegating tasks to a team of skilled technicians

Ensuring all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and in a timely manner

Troubleshooting complex mechanical issues and providing technical guidance to the team

Maintaining accurate records of work completed and parts used

Liaising with customers to provide updates and address any concerns

Assisting with the training and development of junior technicians

Actively contributing to the continuous improvement of workshop processes and procedures

What we're looking for

Extensive experience as an heavy vehicle technician, with a proven track record of leadership and mentoring

Minimum 5 years' experience as a heavy vehicle technician, including 2+ years in a leadership role

Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and find innovative solutions

Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport with both team members and clients

Commitment to maintaining a safe and organised work environment

Certification in automotive trades, such as a Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology

Current NSW Motor Vehicle Repairer's Licence with Heavy Vehicle endorsement

HR / HC Licence highly desirable

Heavy Vehicle Authorised Inspection certificate desirable

Willingness to work collaboratively and contribute to the overall success of the team

Must have permanent Australian work rights or valid working visa
