Your Position:
As the Senior Team Leader Parks and Gardens, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Parks & Reserves teams, ensuring the effective maintenance and management of major parks, reserves, including sporting fields for both summer and winter sports.
Your role will involve planning and coordinating maintenance programs, contractor management, budget oversight, and ensuring adherence to WHS standards. This is a hands-on leadership role, where your expertise will be instrumental in driving high-quality outcomes for our community.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Supervising and leading a team to deliver exceptional outcomes in parks and gardens maintenance.
- Planning and scheduling daily, weekly, and seasonal routines for parks and reserve operations.
- Coordinating projects, including contractor management, procurement, and budgeting.
- Conducting regular site inspections to ensure high-quality work is maintained.
- Managing customer service requests via Council's Asset Mobility System.
- Monitoring staff performance and managing leave requests.
- Ensuring WHS requirements are strictly adhered to by all staff and contractors.
- Providing hands-on support to the team as required.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current NSW MR Class Licence.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Horticulture, Parks, Landscaping, or equivalent vocational knowledge (minimum 5 years).
- SafeWork NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card).
- Traffic Controller Certificate, Implement Traffic Control Plans, and Prepare Traffic Management Plans (or willingness to obtain).
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing outdoor staff, with a focus on parks and gardens.
- Strong project management and planning skills, including sports field maintenance.
- Sound verbal, numeracy, and written communication skills.
- A commitment to quality customer service and collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Sound knowledge of EEO, WHS, and cultural diversity principles.
