Workshop Mechanic/Supervisor

About the Role:

Oversee workshop operations, scheduling and job allocation

Carry out and supervise maintenance, servicing, and repairs on a range of heavy vehicles, trucks, trailer and associated equipment.

Lead and mentor a small team of skilled mechanics and apprentices

Monitor quality control, safety procedures, and compliance standards

Liaise with drivers, management, and suppliers to ensure smooth workflow and minimal downtime

Manage parts inventory and ensure workshop efficiency

What We're Looking For:

Heavy Vehicle Mechanic trade qualification

Proven experience working on heavy transport vehicles (prime movers and trailers)

Experience in refrigerated transport equipment is preferred, but not essential

Previous supervisory/leading hand experience highly regarded

Strong fault-finding, diagnostics and mechanical skills

Solid understanding of NHVAS, Chain of Responsibility, and compliance standards

Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills

Can-do attitude, proactive and safety focused
