Our client is a well-known family business with a wonderful, rich history that services NSW, Victoria and ACT. We are currently sourcing a committed and resourceful individual to join their team as a Workshop Foreman/Senior Heavy Vehicle Mechanic.
The Role:
As the Workshop Foreman/Senior Heavy Vehicle Mechanic you will lead from the front by being 50% hands on by completing mechanical/technical work, as well as 50% mentoring and supervising the workshop team.
Your core duties & responsibilities will include:
- Supervise and mentor workshop staff to ensure both productivity, as well as high-quality work.
- Lead by example through completing high quality mechanical/technical workshop repairs.
- Work well with the service department, parts department & office staff ensuring 360-degree communication, thus providing an A1 customer experience.
- Liaise with the sales department for both new & used trucks requirements, as well as delivery deadlines.
- Availability to attend afterhours (paid overtime) for open air emergency break downs where required.
What you will need to succeed:
- Proven experience in a heavy vehicles/trucks environment and proven ability to demonstrate a broad understanding of what the role entails. (Essential)
- Be a fully qualified and ticketed Heavy Vehicle Mechanic with certificate issued through Fair-Trading NSW. (Essential)
- Heavy vehicle driver's licence. (Willingness to obtain) (Essential)
- NSW RMS heavy vehicle inspector qualifications. (Willingness to obtain) (Essential)
- Experience in automotive electrics, including air conditioning, as well as scan tools and fault diagnosis (Highly desirable)
