The Team:
Peacock House opened in 2023, and focusses on providing warm, welcoming and trauma-informed care to people experiencing mental health relapse or distress. Peacock House works closely with the peer lead services at Peacock Centre, including the Integration Hub, the Safe Haven and the Recovery College.
The Role:
The enrolled nurse provides direct patient/client centred nursing care to assigned patients/clients, within the scope of practice of an enrolled nurse and under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse to achieve planned patient outcomes.
You will need:
- Sound knowledge of the principles of nursing care, procedures and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to practice in a manner that respects the right of individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.

Details of appointment:
Multiple, permanent, full-time or part time, shift worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Location: Hobart, Tasmania
Salary: $70,980 to $78,179 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines).
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a mental health setting.
