The Team:
Whilst the Spencer Clinic Inpatient Unit (SCIU) has experienced clinicians, it is predominantly a young team which is developing constantly and is the future succession planning. This position ensures experienced clinicians are handing down their knowledge and skill base to the junior team members for that succession planning to succeed.
Our multidisciplinary team consists of two Consultants, two Senior medical officers/registrars, 1 Registered medical officer, a psychologist and a social worker. The team works well together with the several registered, enrolled nurses and attendants to deliver a well-considered recovery journey to the consumers.
We will work with you to identify which service areas are a good match for your skill set, track your progress and explore developmental opportunities with you.
The Role:
In accordance with Agency policy and legal requirements, the Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON) works within their respective workplace guidelines to provide nursing care as delegated by the Registered Nurse (RN) and within the direction and supervision of the RN or Enrolled Nurse (EN), in accordance with the nursing care plan.
You will need
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in patient or client care, with an ability to assist patients or clients to meet their personal care needs and perform activities of daily living as required and delegated by the supervising nurse.
- Ability to work as an effective team member in a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, including written, verbal and numeracy skills.

Details of appointment:
Multiple, fixed term, part time, shift worker position, working up to 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible until 30 June 2028.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $64,985 to $71,008 per annum (pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria.
An undergraduate Bachelor of Nursing student who has successfully completed their first clinical practice placement.
An undergraduate Diploma of Nursing student who has completed their first clinical practice placement.
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Current First Aid Certificate
