About the Role
As the Switchboard Operator you will provide effective & efficient communication service and information to all Hospital staff, external agencies and the general public.

• Ensure Calls are answered in an appropriate manner
• Demonstrate high levels of communication skills appropriate to Switchboard functions
• Operation and management of Hospital Paging system
• Receipt, management and coordination of all Emergency Codes
• Provide accurate patient enquiry information

Classifications for this position will range from HS1 - HS17 ($58,442- $64,610 per annum pro rata).

Your Contribution

• Experience in a health service environment
• Demonstrated high level communication and organisational skills
• Strong computer literacy
• An understanding of medical terminology
• Experience in a broad range of administrative duties
• A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain

St Vincent's Switchboard is located within the Inpatient Services Building at Fitzroy and operates 24 hours 7 days per week. Switchboard Operators manage a nucleus of information for staff, patients, relatives and external agencies.
